It was a cold but nice day when the Under 10 Boys team traveled to Cambridge to compete in the Centaurs tournament. First up were the Mississauga Monarchs team, which they had lost to in a heart-breaking fashion the week before. This time however, they boys were prepared, and ended up winning a nail-biter 39-37, with a key moment coming when “Big Shot” Peacock, always a force on defence, hit the pull-up jumper to ice the game.
Next they were matched up with Brooklin Elite, but buoyed by their earlier win, the team came out guns a-blazing and won 36-14, led by Alex and his 10 points and aggressive style.
In the finals, the boys were outmatched by the Etobicoke Thunder AAA team, but still played tough and took them to the limit before finishing with a silver medal. Excellent effort by all the players and coaches, and a sure sign of even better things to come!
