Toronto Lords Junior Women Season Starts off with a bang

Early season games always reveal something about the teams, and this past Saturday, November 30th was no different than every year as we saw things on the floor finally being put to use after months of practice.
In the first game, our Team Purple, made up of primarily grade 11’s, put up a great effort and roared back from a 16 point deficit in the 4th to close it to five points with under 2 minutes to go. However, at that point their steam ran out, and they fell to Barrie 49-40. Leading the way for the Purple team was Shenaya McDonald-Peart with 9 points and a key block in the 4th.
In the second game, the Gold Team, made up of primarily grade 12’s, had their revenge as they beat a tired Barrie team 72-47. The team showed off its explosive offence with 11 out of 12 players scoring 4 or more points, and leading the way was newcomer Mackenzie Robinson, with 13 points.
Great start to the year, and definitely a sign of things to come.
