Junior Women Earn First Victory of the Season, downing Toronto Triple Threat 44-23
The Junior Women’s team had their first win tonight against Toronto Triple Threat, beating them 44-23 behind Heni’s 4 threes in the 4th quarter! Juvenile Girls Gold Team moves to 9-2 with victory over Scarborough Blues
On Sunday February 3rd the Juvenile Girls Gold team ran their season record to 9-2 with a victory over the Scarborough Blues 60-20, increasing their winning streak to 7 games. Led by Jeylinh Bui’s 21 points, and relentless defence from key contributors Chiderah Obiahuba and Mary Grant, the team was never threatened as they once again came out victorious.
Juvenile Girls Bench Mob proves too much for York North
Continuing their impressive recent run, the Toronto Lords Juvenile Girls claimed another victim last night in the form of the York North Avengers, defeating them 64-28. It was an impressive effort, especially by the bench mob who combined for 23 points (Milky Diaz-Rojas – 19), 9 assists (Megan Miller – 4) and 14 rebounds (Lexie Moore – 6). The Juvenile Girls record now stands at 9-2, courtesy of a 6 game winning streak.
Juvenile Girls claim Gold at Mumba Tournament
A thrilling weekend of basketball ended with the Juvenile Girls Gold team winning gold this past weekend at the Markham Mumba tournament. They ran their record to 7-2 overall, with hard fought victories of top ranked teams Oakville Vytis, Niagara Falls Red Raiders, Barrie Royals and Blessed Sacrament – DiSabatino in the finals. The Toronto Lords Juvenile Girls opened the season in a strong manner, defeating the Mississauga Wolverines 54-30 on Saturday, December 1st. The team pushed the ball at every opportunity, played spectacular defence, and had great contributions from all the team members as 8 different players scored.
