Another year, another Division 1 Top 8 finish – this has become the story of the Junior Women’s program with Toronto Lords. This year, despite being ravaged by injuries the Lords oldest women’s team was able to once again climb the summit and finish again with a top division seeding! Led by graduating seniors Djanette Benemerito, Emilia Ho, Emily Balkissoon (who played in the provincial championships despite tearing her ACL earlier in the year), Justyne Burger-Samuels and Imani Abukar, they were able to put it together for key games and continue the Lords streak of 4 consecutive division 1 finishes. Good luck to our graduates as they continue their playing careers at their post-secondary institutions! We look forward to such great players returning to us as coaches in the future.
A special thanks to my great co-coaches, David Browne and Paul Ho, whose tireless work ethic and dedication to excellence rubs off on all our players. I look forward to working with you all again, and to our returning players and those of you moving up, I can’t wait to get in the gym with all of you.
